Medical Lab Technician (MLT)
Location: Columbia, SC 29220
Job Type: Contract
Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift: Night | 7:00 PM–7:30 AM
Schedule: 3x12 Hours | 36 Hours/Week

Traveler Candidates: Accepted
Weekend Requirement: Every Other Weekend
Pay Rate:
Local: $35–$40/hr
Traveler: $35–$40/hr
Required Qualifications:
- Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) experience Required
- Generalist laboratory experience Required
- Blood Bank experience Required
- EPIC experience Required
- Previous travel healthcare experience Required
- First-time travelers are not accepted
- Strong laboratory testing and specimen-processing skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced laboratory environment
- Ability to work night shifts and every-other-weekend coverage
Responsibilities:
- Perform laboratory testing and analysis according to established procedures
- Work as a laboratory generalist across multiple clinical laboratory areas
- Perform blood bank testing and related procedures
- Collect, process, prepare, and analyze patient specimens
- Operate laboratory equipment and perform quality-control procedures
- Review test results for accuracy and report critical or abnormal findings
- Maintain accurate laboratory records and documentation
- Ensure proper specimen identification, handling, processing, and storage
- Follow laboratory safety, infection-control, and quality-assurance standards
- Collaborate with laboratory staff, nurses, physicians, and healthcare professionals
- Maintain compliance with laboratory policies and procedures
- Utilize EPIC for documentation and laboratory-related workflows
