Maximize reliability, protect people, and elevate performance. As the Maintenance & Engineering Services Supervisor, you will orchestrate the work that keeps our plants running, our fleets DOT-compliant, and our teams safe.
What you’ll lead
Team and workload
- Supervise, schedule, and develop Maintenance Mechanics/Technicians across mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, welding, and industrial electric disciplines.
- Assign and track corrective and preventive work via a digital platform such as MaintainX; translate priorities into clear work orders.
- Coach for performance, deliver reviews, and provide corrective action when necessary.
Technical execution
- Construct, rebuild, and repair equipment to drawings/specifications, aligning results with repair cost estimates.
- Troubleshoot and repair equipment; manage installation, maintenance, and upgrades.
- Ensure work meets Federal, State, and local codes; enforce company safety policies and 5S standards.
Planning and stewardship
- Estimate labor and materials; source competitive pricing for supplies, tools, and equipment.
- Maintain complete records of labor, materials, and work orders.
- Operate light trucks for parts/equipment pickup and delivery as needed.
- Maintain regular attendance and perform additional duties as assigned.
What you bring Knowledge
- Mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and welding fundamentals.
- Workforce scheduling, job layout, and assignment practices.
- Safety standards, regulatory compliance, and technical depth in your trade.
- Proper storage of equipment/materials and sound record-keeping.
- Trade tools, equipment, and methods for skilled/general maintenance and equipment repair.
Abilities
- Perform journey-level maintenance and complex equipment repairs.
- Prioritize and manage multiple concurrent jobs; meet schedules and timelines.
- Train, direct, and support personnel on mobile and fixed equipment.
- Interpret and apply codes, rules, regulations, and work orders.
- Operate tools and vehicles safely; practice legal and defensive driving.
- Communicate effectively; make accurate calculations; work independently; maintain cooperative working relationships.
- Perform heavy physical labor and lift heavy objects as part of daily work.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- Five (5)+ years of experience in one or more skilled trades.
- Valid driver’s license in the state of employment.
Physical essentials
- Stand, sit, and walk throughout the shift.
- Communicate via speech, vision, and hearing.
- Use hands for grasping and fine manipulation.
- Bend, squat, crawl, climb, and reach.
- Lift, carry, push, or pull up to 75 lbs; work near moving machinery and in environments with temperature fluctuations, dust, and fumes.
