Job Description

The Test Technician performs new product validation and manufacturing/production tests using Hydrothermal Liquefaction (HTL) procedures and specialized fixtures. This role focuses on executing test procedures, monitoring and improving testing processes and documentation, and ensuring the accuracy and reliability of test data and equipment. The technician contributes to product quality by identifying defects, analyzing test results, and supporting the development and maintenance of test fixtures and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform new product validation and manufacturing/production tests using Hydrothermal Liquefaction (HTL) procedures and fixtures.
• Observe testing procedures to evaluate opportunities for process and documentation improvements.
• Record test data accurately and prepare clear, written test reports.
• Maintain required logs and records for all tests performed.
• Visually examine and photograph parts and test products to identify functional defects and verify conformance to specifications.
• Identify failures and analyze test results to detect potential problems and recommend possible solutions.
• Perform maintenance and implement improvements to test equipment and computer systems to ensure data accuracy and reliability.
• Assist in the development, design, and construction of test fixtures and test equipment.
• Assist with or perform repairs on test tanks, pumps, manifolds, piping, and electronic, electrical, or mechanical components.
• Assist with test and measurement equipment calibration verification.
• Use precision measuring devices and test equipment to validate product performance.
• Follow safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals while working in a manufacturing environment.

Essential Skills

• Ability to read, understand, and use blueprints, schematics, and test procedures.
• Knowledge of basic mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems.
• Ability to effectively use a personal computer and associated software.
• Electronics assembly and repair experience.
• Proficiency in wiring and working with test equipment.
• Ability to perform calibration and verification of test and measurement equipment.
• Mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to read and interpret schematics and technical drawings.
• Language skills including the ability to read and comprehend instructions and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to write clear reports and business correspondence.
• Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to engineers, manufacturing employees, and other employees within the organization.
• Mathematical skills including the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, decimals, and fractions.
• Reasoning skills including the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
• Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
• For higher-level technicians (Grades 6 and 7), ability to solve non-routine problems.
• Ability to effectively use various electronic, hand, and power tools and test equipment.
• Ability to use precision measuring devices.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience working with Hydrothermal Liquefaction (HTL) procedures is beneficial.
• Experience in a manufacturing or production test environment.
• Comfort working with test tanks, pumps, manifolds, and piping.
• Experience maintaining and improving test equipment and computer-based test systems.
• Ability to visually inspect and photograph parts for documentation and quality purposes.

Work Environment

This role is based in a manufacturing environment that involves regular hands-on work with mechanical, electrical, and electronic test equipment. The position requires frequent standing and walking, as well as using hands to finger, handle, or feel components and equipment, and reaching with hands and arms. You will regularly communicate with team members and occasionally sit, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl as part of equipment inspection and repair activities. The role may require occasionally lifting and moving up to 50 pounds. Visual demands include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus to inspect parts, read schematics, and monitor test results.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Riverside, CA.

The pay range for this position is $28.67 - $28.67/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
