Experienced Intermodal Dispatcher – Norfolk, VA
We are looking for an experienced Intermodal Dispatcher to join our team. This position requires strong knowledge of Norfolk-area port operations and experience working directly with owner-operators.
Requirements:
- Intermodal dispatch experience is a must
- Strong knowledge of the Norfolk ports and terminals
- Experience dispatching and managing owner-operators
- Understanding of port procedures, appointments, container availability, demurrage, detention, and equipment issues
- Ability to manage multiple drivers and loads at the same time
- Strong communication and customer-service skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and solve problems quickly
- Dependable, organized, and able to work with minimal supervision
