Process Engineering Technician

1st shift: Monday - Thursday 5:45am - 4:30pm

Material in Motion is looking for Process Engineering Technicians. The Process Engineering Technician will be part of a technical team that is responsible for improving the manufacturing process through line balancing, line setup, material setup, tooling, and operator training. The Process Engineering Technician will collect, and analyze data on the line throughput to locate bottlenecks, and then work to improve the bottlenecks. The Process Engineering Technician will set-up line trials, collect data, analyze the line trial data, and assist the Process Engineer on making line balance improvements.

The Process Engineering Technician may build tooling, and run trial line setups per the direction of the process engineer or lead process engineering technician. The Process Engineering Technician will collect data on these activities, and be part of the evaluation of the process. The Process Engineering Technician may run First Articles, and work with documentation to develop the work instructions for the product.

As a key team member you will participate in technical reviews to assess performance, build process, test yields, and customer issues.

Primary Job Functions and Responsibilities:

• Evaluate the line for bottlenecks
• Collect, and analyze data using spreadsheets, or other applicable tools to drive process, and line balancing improvements
• Review existing lines, and tooling for possible improvements
• Develop line Preventative Maintenance Checklists for operators, team leads, tooling, and for maintenance.
• Work with Technical, and Operations to validate the proposed process changes, and ensure documentation is updated and correct to reflect the changes when approved
• Train Operators, and Management on the changes
• Perform other duties and projects as assigned.
• Audit production areas for compliance to 7S, and to ensure that the processes are being followed
• Audit tooling to ensure that it is operational, and in good working condition
• Set-up production lines to run run first articles, collect the data, and report out on manufacturing issues
• Create PFM (Process Flow Map) for FA(First Article) and NPI products
• Create DFM (Design for Manufacturability ) report and communicate to customer for improvement of new products

Qualifications Education/Experience:

• Two year Technical Associate Degree, or equivalent College, or Manufacturing Experience may be acceptable per Hiring Manager
• Experience in a manufacturing environment is desired

Desired Skills and Experience:

• Mechanical Experience in manufacturing a plus
• Can analyze process data, and work with both engineering, and production to pinpoint bottlenecks, and process improvements
• Ability to interface with employees at all levels in the organization
• Experience using spreadsheets to analyze data, and solve issues is desired
• Tooling Experience is a plus
• 7S knowledge/training a plus
• Knowledge of Lean Principles a plus
