CAD Technician

TrueLine Construction Layout, LLC (TLCL) is seeking an experienced CAD Technician to join our team. This is a full-time, on-site position located at the project jobsite office and is not a remote or hybrid position.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on CAD experience within commercial and/or industrial construction and a strong understanding of construction drawings, layout, coordinates, elevations, and field operations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, modify, and maintain CAD drawings for commercial and industrial construction projects.

• Review and interpret civil, structural, architectural, and construction drawings.

• Prepare accurate layout information, coordinates, elevations, gridlines, and point data for field crews.

• Review plans for discrepancies, missing information, and potential layout conflicts.

• Incorporate drawing revisions, RFIs, ASIs, and other project updates.

• Coordinate with project management and field personnel to ensure accurate and current information is provided for construction layout.

• Maintain organized project drawings and electronic files.

• Maintain the demand of as-built field data and produce as-built exhibits.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of professional CAD experience; 5+ years preferred.

• Commercial and/or industrial construction experience required.

• Formal CAD training, technical certification, or equivalent professional experience required.

• Proficiency in AutoCAD; Civil 3D experience is a plus.

• Strong ability to read and interpret construction drawings.

• Understanding of coordinates, elevations, dimensions, grid systems, and construction terminology.

• Strong attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet project deadlines.

Preferred Certifications/Experience: Autodesk/AutoCAD certification, CAD or Drafting certification/degree, construction layout or surveying experience, OSHA training, Civil 3D, Revit/BIM, and experience with robotic total stations or GPS/GNSS layout technology.
Position Requirements
This is a full-time, on-site position at the project jobsite office. Candidates must be able to meet TLCL and project-specific requirements, including background screening, drug screening, safety training, and jobsite orientations.
