Pattern Maker-Designer
We are looking for a skilled patternmaker to create factory patterns for our manufacturing company. In this role you will be required to measure and design patterns, create paper templates, and design the final pattern for mass production.
To ensure success as a patternmaker, you should have extensive experience with pattern design, fine motor skills, and a good eye for detail. A top-class patternmaker perfectly translates the ideas of the designer into a reliable and repeatable pattern that can be sent to the manufacturer
Job Responsibility:
- Work with a first pattern maker in design and development.
- Work with our production manager daily, and have a flexible attitude to balance production and design requests. Create pattern specification and work with data team
- Creation of tech packs, garment specifications, and sketches Including extended measurements and detailed drawings. Developing new patterns and creating sewn textile prototypes which meet customer requirements and quality objectives per company’s quality policy.
- Mark samples and finished patterns with information such as sewing instructions. Compute dimensions of patterns according to sizes, considering stretching of material.
- Document all design and development processes, including creation of specifications and other documentation necessary for subsequent production.
- Maintaining quality records as required by company’s quality policies and procedures. Working in conjunction with the Production Manager in order to supervise all industrial production in the plant while ensuring compliance with the company’s quality standards and customer specifications
Required experience:
- Thorough knowledge of custom grading.
- Production Pattern Making experience a MUST
- Knowledge of fabrics, trims, and sewing operations associated with standard product types
- Be comfortable with all tasks and fittings to develop a pattern
- Must be able to understand and create sewing patterns and fabrics.
- Independently travel to dealership /test fit and tweaking the pattern and filing the design.
- Be able to cut & professionally Automotive accessories samples for fitting purposes, primarily using flatlock seams, elastic hems, binding / folder, single needle, and cover stitch (final samples will be completed at our production facilities).
- Be trained in digital patterning/CAD CAM system, so we can send electronic files to our production facilities.
- Must be able to work in a fast paced environment and able to change projects back and forth as job demands.
- Apparel Designing experience with Stretch Fabric is plus
- Knowledge base on the vehicle and automotive industry is an advantage
