Our multidisciplinary medical facility in Baton Rouge is seeking an experienced Family Nurse Practitioner-Certified (FNP-C) to provide temporary coverage for an upcoming maternity leave. This is an excellent opportunity for an FNP-C who enjoys working in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment and treating a diverse patient population.

Our practice has a strong presence in the personal injury and workers’ compensation communities and provides comprehensive care through a team-based approach. The selected provider will work alongside experienced physicians and rehabilitation specialists to help coordinate and manage patient care.

Our Multidisciplinary Team Includes:

• Full-time FNP-C providing medication management and ongoing patient care
• Orthopedic spine surgeons
• Orthopedic extremity surgeons
• Interventional pain management specialist
• Speech-Language Pathologist specializing in brain injury and concussion rehabilitation
• Physical Therapist specializing in vestibular therapy and concussion rehabilitation

Position Responsibilities

The temporary FNP-C will provide comprehensive evaluation and management of patients, including:

• Performing patient musculoskeletal evaluations and follow-up visits
• Medication management and monitoring
• Developing and adjusting treatment plans
• Coordinating care with orthopedic, pain management, and rehabilitation providers
• Managing patients with musculoskeletal, orthopedic, and injury-related conditions
• Evaluating and managing patients with a variety of acute and chronic conditions
• Collaborating with our SLP and PT/vestibular therapy team when appropriate
• Providing patient education and ongoing clinical support
• Maintaining accurate and timely medical documentation
• Regenerative medicine

Qualifications

• Current FNP-C certification
• Active Louisiana APRN license
• DEA registration
• Appropriate clinical experience as an FNP
• Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills
• Excellent communication and documentation skills
• Ability to work independently while functioning effectively within a multidisciplinary team
• Experience with musculoskeletal injuries, orthopedic, pain management, personal injury, or workers’ compensation patients is a plus, but not required
• Experience in regenerative medicine also a plus

Position Details

This is a temporary full-time position intended to provide maternity leave coverage for approximately 3–6 months, with the potential for additional opportunities depending on the needs of the practice and mutual interest.
