Tax Manager / Senior Tax Manager

Are you an experienced Tax Manager or Senior Tax Manager with a strong public accounting background? Our client is seeking an established tax professional to lead complex engagements, advise a diverse client base, and mentor accounting professionals.
Recent public accounting tax experience is essential. Candidates must have 7+ years of public accounting tax experience and an active CPA license or Enrolled Agent designation.
Responsibilities
- Lead tax engagements from planning through completion
- Review complex individual, partnership, corporate, S corporation, fiduciary, and nonprofit returns
- Provide tax planning, research, projections, and client advisory services
- Handle federal and state tax notices, examinations, and audits
- Research and resolve complex tax matters
- Manage client relationships and provide practical tax guidance
- Supervise, train, and mentor staff and senior accountants
- Manage multiple engagements, deadlines, and client priorities
Qualifications
- 7+ years of recent public accounting tax experience
- Active CPA or Enrolled Agent designation
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
- Strong federal and multistate tax knowledge
- Proven experience reviewing returns and managing tax engagements
- Client advisory and relationship management experience
- Leadership, supervisory, and mentoring experience
- Strong communication, analytical, and organizational skills
- Experience with professional tax software; CCH experience is a plus
Compensation & Benefits
- $125,000–$175,000, based on experience

Busy Season: Approximately 55 hours per week from February through April 15, with additional overtime potentially required from September through October 15.
This is a hands-on Tax Manager/Senior Tax Manager opportunity, not an entry point into public accounting. The successful candidate will already have the technical expertise, client experience, and leadership skills to step into the role and contribute immediately.
