Summary:
Responsible for supervising the Engineering team, providing leadership and guidance in the general repair and maintenance of the hotel property.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversees work assigned to Maintenance Engineers by Chief Engineer
- Guides, provides leadership and mentorship to Maintenance Engineers
- Trains new Maintenance Engineers
- Has ultimate responsibility in the absence of the Chief Engineer
- Offers insight, makes evaluations and assists department managers in problem solving
- Performs general repairs and maintenance as required
- Responds to trouble calls as reported by other departments
- Keeps maintenance shop organized and takes care of tools and equipment
- Assists in other areas based on trade knowledge (i.e. plumbing, electrical, HVAC)
- Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures
- Maintains and ensures compliance of all policies and procedures
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma; 4 years of general maintenance experience preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- General knowledge of tools and building materials
- Strong interpersonal skills required
- Strong organizational and time management skills required
- Ability to verbally communicate with others
Working Conditions:
Work is not performed in an office environment and requires evening and weekend hours.
