CTG's long-standing Fortune 500 client of over 15 years has a W2 contract assignment for a Controller I.

Work Hours: M-F 8am-5pm
Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

Description

The Controller I will oversee the financial integrity of a complex manufacturing operation, supporting plant financial reporting, cost accounting, internal controls, and operational decision-making. This hands-on role will manage financial activities for a manufacturing environment with significant work-in-process and inventory while partnering closely with Operations to connect financial results to production performance.

Responsibilities include maintaining accurate plant financials, analyzing manufacturing costs and variances, supporting standard costing and BOMs, monitoring work orders and inventory, preparing monthly P&L reporting, and providing product-line and program margin analysis. The Controller will also support capital and inventory forecasting, strengthen internal controls, ensure audit-ready reporting, and challenge assumptions when financial results are not supported by operational data.

Required Qualifications

• 7+ years of cost and managerial accounting experience in a complex discrete-manufacturing environment
• Strong expertise in standard costing, BOMs, work orders, manufacturing variance analysis, inventory, absorption, and plant P&L reporting
• Demonstrated experience with SOX and other internal controls, including inventory and revenue-cycle controls
• Strong ERP and MES experience in a manufacturing environment
• Experience partnering with Operations and manufacturing leadership to connect financial results with production performance
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills
• Ability to challenge unsupported assumptions and deliver accurate, decision-useful financial analysis
