We are looking for an experienced Accounting Manager to provide senior-level cost accounting leadership for a manufacturing environment in Addison, Illinois. This Long-term Contract position will focus on maintaining accurate cost structures, strengthening financial insight, and supporting operational decision-making through detailed analysis. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in standard costing and manufacturing accounting, with the ability to guide reporting and controls in a fast-paced setting.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee cost accounting activities for manufacturing operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting and reliable inventory valuation.
• Maintain and update rolling standard costs while evaluating variances and identifying key cost drivers.
• Lead in-depth cost analysis to support budgeting, forecasting, and business performance reviews.
• Partner with operations and finance teams to improve visibility into production costs, margins, and operational efficiency.
• Manage job costing processes and provide clear reporting on project or production-related expenditures.
• Review accounting records, reconciliations, and supporting schedules to uphold strong internal controls and data accuracy.
• Develop management reporting and dashboards, including Power BI-based insights when applicable, to support informed decision-making.
• Contribute expertise related to construction accounting considerations where business needs overlap with project-based costing.
• 10+ years of accounting experience, including substantial leadership in cost accounting roles.
• Proven background in manufacturing cost accounting with strong knowledge of standard costing methodologies.
• Hands-on experience performing cost analysis, variance review, and inventory-related financial oversight.
• Familiarity with job costing practices; exposure to construction accounting is beneficial.
• Ability to interpret financial data and translate findings into practical recommendations for business partners.
• Experience working with enterprise accounting or ERP systems; prior ORG platform exposure is a plus.
• Power BI experience is preferred for reporting, dashboard creation, and data visualization.
The salary range for this position is $45/hour to $50/hour.Benefits available to contract/temporary professionals, include medical, vision, dental, and life and disability insurance.
