DevOps Engineer

Our client is activelymigrating their platform to AWSand this role will play a central part in that transition. The environment is currently built and operated internally on Microsoft Azure, so the ideal candidate will be able to develop, deploy, and integrate acrossboth AWS and Azure, with the majority of forward-looking work centered on AWS.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Work with Architecture and Engineering teams to learn the current state of the multi-tenant SaaS development environment across Azure and AWS
- Improve infrastructure as code to automate the deployment of the Platform into AWS and Azure, supporting the ongoing migration from Azure to AWS
- Establish DevOps automation as our client evolves toward a more frequent product release cadence to upgrade customer environments with each new release
- Create and update the tooling and processes for monitoring deployed customer solutions and coordinate with Support to meet uptime SLAs
- Collaborate with the cybersecurity team to implement security processes and procedures that support corporate security policies across both cloud platforms
- Take over ownership and support of our client's PaaS deployment artifacts, which customers use to deploy the solutions into their own cloud tenant (an alternative to SaaS). Evolve them to take advantage of the investments made in SaaS and to support AWS-based deployments
- Deploy newly licensed customers, working with customer IT teams to configure network access to deployed solutions
- Monitor application uptime and performance to ensure satisfaction of customer SLAs
- Monitor and manage SaaS infrastructure across AWS and Azure for performance and reliability, maximizing customer experience while optimizing operational costs
- Collaborate with engineering to identify and implement product improvements to streamline the SaaS experience, including a shift toward more frequent upgrades and increased efficiency to minimize run-time costs
Technical Skills
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering (or comparable Technical Degree); equivalent work experience will be considered
- 2+ years of DevOps Engineering experience; experience working in a SaaS environment required
- Deep understanding of the technologies and processes for deploying, monitoring, and managing cloud native solutions
- Strong cloud platform experience acrossAWS and Azure, with an emphasis on AWS (approximately 60% AWS / 40% Azure); hands-on experience supporting cloud migrations strongly preferred
- Strong experience with Kubernetes (Helm, Docker, Containers, EKS, AKS, etc.)
- Demonstrated experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, ARM Templates)
- Experience in Networking (DNS, certificates), SQL Server, monitoring tools, and identity/access management (AWS IAM, Azure Active Directory / Entra ID)
