About the Role:

The Automotive Apprentice or Entry Technician role is designed to provide foundational experience and training in automotive repair and maintenance within a professional shop environment. The primary goal is to develop technical skills through hands-on work under the guidance of experienced technicians, enabling the apprentice to diagnose, service, and repair a wide range of vehicle systems. This position serves as a critical stepping stone for individuals seeking to build a long-term career in automotive technology by gaining practical knowledge of tools, diagnostic equipment, and repair procedures. The role requires a commitment to learning and safety, as well as the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting while maintaining high-quality workmanship. Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Basic understanding of automotive systems and mechanical aptitude.
• Strong willingness to learn and take direction from experienced technicians.
• Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, standing for extended periods, and working in various weather conditions.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Completion of or enrollment in an accredited automotive technology program.
• Previous experience in an automotive service environment, even in a non-technical role.
• Familiarity with automotive diagnostic software and tools.
• Basic knowledge of vehicle electrical systems and computer diagnostics.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team setting.

Responsibilities:

• Assist experienced technicians with vehicle inspections, diagnostics, and repairs to gain practical experience.
• Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire rotations, brake inspections, and fluid checks under supervision.
• Learn to use diagnostic tools and equipment to identify mechanical and electrical issues in various vehicle systems.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring tools and equipment are properly stored and maintained.
• Follow all safety protocols and shop procedures to ensure a safe working environment for all team members.
• Document work performed and communicate effectively with team members to support efficient workflow.
• Participate in ongoing training sessions to develop technical knowledge and stay current with automotive technologies.
