PART-TIME SIGN INSTALLER
Location: Petaluma
Job Type: Part Time
Pay: $21-$30/hr based on experience
Schedule: Consistent schedule of 2-3 days a week - depending on availability, with occasional additional hours.
Johnston Signs is seeking a dependable, detail oriented Sign Installer to join our team. This position plays an essential role in completing each project, requiring someone who takes pride in craftsmanship and ensures every installation meets our company's safety and quality standards.
The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver who enjoys working outdoors, operating tools and equipment, and finding practical solutions in the field. This person must be able to work independently while maintaining clear communication with coworkers, project managers, and the rest of the production team.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Install illuminated and non illuminated signs, lettering, panels, posts, cabinets, and other signage products.
- Safely operate power tools, ladders, lifts, and other install equipment.
- Read and interpret drawings, installation plans, measurements, and job specifications.
- Perform site measurements and pre-installation inspections.
- Identify and resolve mechanical, structural, and site-related challenges.
- Confirm that completed installations are level, secure, properly aligned, visually clean, and installed according to planned specs.
- Maintain company tools, vehicles, and equipment in safe working condition.
- Follow all company safety procedures and applicable job-site requirements.
- Communicate professionally with customers and represent Johnston Signs well at every job site.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Previous sign installation, construction, electrical, fabrication, or related field experience is preferred.
- Experience safely using hand tools, power tools, ladders, and job site equipment.
- Strong attention to detail, especially with measurements, alignment, leveling, and finish work.
- Ability to think on your feet and adapt to challenging job-site conditions.
- Dependable, punctual, and able to work effectively both independently and as part of a small team.
- Comfortable working outdoors, at heights, and in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to perform the essential physical duties of the position, including lifting and carrying installation materials, climbing ladders, bending, and standing for extended periods, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Valid drivers license and driving record acceptable to the company's insurance requirements.
- Fluent in English (spoken and written)
- Crane, aerial-lift, welding, electrical, OSHA, or similar qualifications are a plus but not required.
