System Integration Lab Engineer (HWIL Test Facilities)
Location: Stratford, CT (Onsite)
Pay: $50.00 to $75.00 per hour, overtime eligible
Employment type: Contract (W-2), approximately 15 months, with opportunity for full-time conversion
Schedule: 4/10, 1st shift
Security clearance: Ability to Obtain
About the role
Provide hands-on engineering support to a Flight Controls, Autonomy and Electrical organization, designing, building and integrating hardware-in-the-loop (HWIL) and closed loop test facilities within System Integration Labs for rotorcraft programs.
What you will do
- Design, build, integrate and test HWIL and closed loop lab configurations
- Receive, stage and integrate subsystem hardware; manage interface control documents and wiring, power and data connections
- Plan lab infrastructure (power distribution, network cabling, shielding, cooling) and support facility modifications
- Order, receive and track parts and equipment; maintain inventory
- Track lab risks and issues, capture KPIs and produce status reports
- Create schematics and block diagrams in Visio, Mentor Graphics, Zuken and Siemens NX/3DX
- Maintain engineering documentation under configuration control
What you bring
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related (4 to 8 years with BS, 2 to 6 with MS)
- 4+ years of Zuken experience
- Experience designing, developing and verifying test facilities/test beds supporting HWIL and closed loop testing
- Hardware integration for test labs and lab infrastructure planning
- Logistics of ordering, receiving and tracking lab equipment
- Ability to obtain a security clearance (U.S. citizenship)
