Engineering Data Entry Technician
Job Summary
We are seeking an Engineering Data Entry Technician to help transition legacy tooling and fixture data from traditional 2D Excel shim logs into a dynamic 3D modeling application. This role involves reviewing engineering data, comparing 2D fixture information with 3D digital models, accurately entering verified information, and reporting discrepancies for engineering review.
Key Responsibilities
- Review Excel spreadsheets, shim logs, and embedded 2D fixture images to identify relevant records and specifications.
- Navigate a 3D modeling/digital twin application to locate corresponding tooling and fixture units.
- Compare 2D fixture data and images against the 3D model to verify accuracy and consistency.
- Accurately enter verified fixture, tooling, and shim information into the 3D application.
- Cross-check data between multiple sources and maintain a high level of accuracy.
- Identify, document, and report discrepancies between legacy Excel records and 3D models to the Quality/Engineering team.
- Follow established data-entry, documentation, and quality procedures.
- Maintain organized and accurate engineering data throughout the migration process.
Qualifications
- Experience in data entry, data processing, document control, or technical data management.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to interpret and compare technical information from spreadsheets, images, and digital models.
- Comfortable learning and navigating new software applications, including 3D modeling tools.
- Strong organizational and documentation skills.
- Manufacturing, engineering, tooling, fixture, CAD, or technical documentation experience is a plus.
- Ability to identify inconsistencies and escalate issues rather than making unsupported changes.
