Staffing Coordinator/Unit Secretary
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Staffing Coordinator/Unit Secretary to join our Florida team. As a key member of our healthcare support staff, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our rehabilitation center. Staffing Coordinator/Unit Secretary will be responsible for coordinating staffing levels, scheduling, and administrative tasks, while also providing exceptional customer service to patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
Responsibilities:
Coordinate staffing levels and schedules for nursing units and ancillary departments to ensure maximum efficiency and minimal downtime
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, including staffing reports, schedules, and time-off requests
Develop and implement effective staffing strategies to optimize labor costs and improve patient care
Collaborate with nursing and ancillary departments to ensure seamless communication and coordination
Provide administrative support to management and staff, including preparing reports, invoices, and meeting materials
Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion
Demonstrate excellent customer service skills, responding to patient and family inquiries, and addressing concerns in a timely and professional manner
Perform clerical duties related to admission and discharge patients
Keep confidential all patient information received.
Answer telephone and intercom, take messages and communicate messages to the appropriate person.
Schedule patient appointments and tests.
Assist in orientation of new staff to clerical duties of the unit.
Keep nursing station stocked and with adequate supply forms and other clerical needs.
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent required; degree in healthcare administration, business, or related field preferred
1-2 years of experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in a scheduling or coordination role
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and ability to multitask
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work effectively with diverse groups
Proficiency in electronic medical records and scheduling software (training provided)
Knowledge of medical terminology helpful, but not necessary.
SNF experience
Ability to communicate in English effectively through verbal and written means.
