Financial Manager - Manufacturing Operations

We are looking for a finance leader who can oversee the accounting and operational finance activities that support a manufacturing and distribution business in Kansas City, Missouri. This role combines strategic planning with day-to-day execution, partnering closely with operations, sales, customer service, supply chain, and IT to strengthen financial performance and decision-making. The ideal candidate is comfortable working in a fast-moving environment, leading teams, improving processes, and bringing structure to complex business challenges. We are specifically looking for someone with experience in Operational Finance including inventory and pricing.

Responsibilities:

• Direct financial management activities for manufacturing and distribution operations, ensuring accurate oversight of accounting processes and operational performance.

• Lead inventory accounting practices and maintain strong internal controls to support accuracy, compliance, and effective asset management.

• Manage customer pricing administration and billing activities to promote timely, accurate transactions and strong commercial support.

• Prepare forecasts, annual budgets, and financial analyses that help leadership evaluate performance and plan effectively.

• Deliver clear financial reporting and variance insights to guide business decisions and highlight operational trends.

• Partner with cross-functional teams across product operations, sales, customer service, supply chain, and IT to align financial objectives with business needs.

• Identify opportunities to streamline workflows, strengthen process discipline, and improve overall operational efficiency.

• Support ongoing business changes, including evolving systems and acquisitions, while maintaining financial rigor and continuity.

• Balance high-level financial strategy with hands-on execution, providing leadership across both routine activities and special initiatives.

• Experience in financial management or corporate accounting within a manufacturing, distribution, or product-based environment.
• Strong capability in financial modeling, financial analysis, budgeting, and variance review.
• Knowledge of inventory accounting principles, internal controls, and operational finance processes.
• Ability to translate financial data into practical recommendations for cross-functional business partners.
• Experience leading budgeting cycles, forecasting activities, and management reporting.
• Proven success working in fast-paced environments with changing priorities and evolving business needs.
• Strong leadership, communication, and collaboration skills with the ability to guide teams and influence stakeholders.
