Inspector – 1st Shift
Hourly | $16/hour
Location:Grand Rapids, MI
Bus Route Accessible

Kelly Services is seeking a detail-oriented and motivatedInspectorto join our client’s dynamic production team in Grand Rapids, MI. This is an essential role responsible for ensuring products meet high quality standards through accurate inspection, organization, and packaging.

Shift Information:

  • 1st Shift: Monday–Thursday, 5:00 AM – 3:30 PM
  • If utilizing the bus route, a 6:00 AM start time is available

Key Responsibilities:

  • Thoroughly inspect production parts, identifying and categorizing plating defects with precision
  • Enter required data into computer systems accurately and in a timely manner
  • Maintain clear and effective communication with supervisors, quality personnel, and team members
  • Participate in ongoing training to keep current with new parts, processes, and production requirements
  • Operate job-specific equipment safely and according to procedures
  • Organize, package, and label materials for shipment
  • Follow established procedures for material handling, inventory, and product sorting
  • Secure products to plating racks according to written specifications
  • Assist with production, racking, and sorting tasks as needed
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors

Qualifications:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational abilities
  • Basic proficiency with computer systems
  • Exceptional attention to detail

Working Conditions:

  • Adherence to safety requirements in production and inspection areas
  • Standing, walking, bending, or lifting required throughout shifts
  • Ability to lift and move materials as necessary
  • Frequent repetitive motions and working in variable temperature environments

Health & Safety Requirements:

  • Consistently follow all safety and company policies
  • Promptly report equipment issues and safety concerns
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and secure work area
  • Never bypass safety protocols or operate equipment unsafely
  • Contribute to a safe and professional workplace at all times
