Job Description
Position: Technical Specialist - Mainframe Expert
Location: Raleigh, NC (Onsite)
Duration: Long-term Contract
Interview Process: Must be available for an in-person interview
Key Responsibilities & Technical Skills
The ideal candidate will serve as a core mainframe expert, utilizing a deep technical stack including CICS, DB2, Elixir, Endevor, IMS, and JCL. Additional experience with middleware and MQ is highly beneficial.
Your core focus will involve:
- Utilizing thorough knowledge of the Z/OS operating system, its interrelationships, and overall functionality.
- Providing comprehensive configuration management and release management support and guidance for Endevor software.
- Applying advanced knowledge of SQL programming language, techniques, and utilities to support DB2.
- Evaluating complex SQL queries to recommend performance tuning adjustments and cost-saving measures.
- Delivering CICS administration, troubleshooting, and debugging support while interfacing seamlessly with application developers and DIT personnel.
Qualifications
- 7+ Years of experience with the Z/OS operating system, its interrelationships, and functionality.
- 7+ Years of experience providing configuration management / release management support and guidance for Endevor software.
- 7+ Years of expert-level knowledge of SQL programming language and techniques.
- 7+ Years of experience utilizing tools and utilities to support DB2.
- 7+ Years of proven ability evaluating complex SQL queries for optimization.
