About the Opportunity
OUI Installation Group is seeking experienced independent 1099 contractors and small installation crews for commercial walk-in cooler & freezer projects across the continental United States. We partner with major national corporations to deliver high-quality cold storage installations, ranging from small 20-foot walk-ins to massive industrial refrigerated warehouses.
As a 1099 contractor with OUI, you control your schedule. Choose the projects that fit your availability and location. Project durations range from single-day jobs to 2-month large-scale builds.
We do reimbursements on housing and travel upon invoice.
Scope of Work & Responsibilities
- Commercial Erection: Assemble and erect walk-in coolers, freezers, and refrigerated/non-refrigerated structures of all sizes.
- IMP & Steel Installation: Erect Insulated Metal Panels (IMP) and structural steel framing according to project specifications.
- Doors & Hardware: Install glass display doors, heavy-duty swing doors, and industrial slide doors.
- Finishing & Trim: Perform detailed carpentry, trim work, and professional silicone/sealant application.
- Blueprint Execution: Read and work directly from blueprints, architectural drawings, and detailed scopes of work.
Contractor Qualifications & Requirements
- Active Business Setup: Must hold a valid State Contractor’s License in your home state and possess an Employer Identification Number (EIN), or willing to obtain.
- Trade Experience: Proven background in commercial construction, or related mechanical/structural trades.
- Travel Flexibility: Willingness and ability to travel to job sites nationwide.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in reading blueprints and executing detailed scopes of work independently.
- Safety & Reliability: Strong commitment to job site safety standards, quality craftsmanship, and timely execution. OSHA certification and other safety certifications preferred.
- Capacity: Solo installers and small crew leads are both welcome to apply.
