Cyber Security Systems Engineer

Job Summary:
Digital Cloak is seeking a motivated Cyber Security Systems Engineer to provide IT support to a development lab and DoD operated production environment. The engineer will collaborate with an innovative and agile team of software developers to support and improve established development lab and production environment architecture. The ideal candidate is a quick-thinking and adaptive professional with a strong foundation in systems management and interest in expanding expertise.

This position is client-facing approximately one-third of the time.

Essential Function:

• Conduct daily operational maintenance, support, and upgrades for operating systems and servers
• Ensure compliance with applicable hosting environment security policy and configuration management principles including but not limited to researching and implementing STIGs, Security Controls, etc.
• Provide incident response assistance including continuity of operations (COOP) support
• Manage architecture design and conduct software and hardware integration, implementation, upgrade, maintenance, and recovery activities
• Leverage innovative thinking to optimize system performance
• Provide end-user support for development, testing, training, and production environments
• Author configuration, system, and network design documents
• Development of simple software development projects in support of automation or infrastructure as code projects

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

• Demonstrated advanced skill with Windows and Linux Operating Systems
• Ability to evaluate and implement intrusion detection / prevention solutions
• Working knowledge of DoD Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGS)
• Experience generating and executing advanced SQL queries
• Experience supporting enterprise-level software systems to include debugging, diagnosing, triaging, and log analysis
• Experience with issue tracking via software
• Knowledge and experience implementing Public Key Infrastructure (PKI)
• Experience using code-signing tools such as MageUI
• Experience working closely with and supporting development teams

Preferred Knowledge, Skills Abilities:

• Database administration experience
• Red team experience, or knowledge of and experience using Packet Capture (PCAP) software and extracting meaningful information from results.
• Experience working with active-duty military or within similar DOD Environments

Required Education, Certificates/Licenses, Related Experience:

• Associate’s Degree in Computer Science or a related field OR any equivalent combination of education and related experience that equips the candidate to effectively perform the essential functions or 5+ years of system administration experience
• 3+ years of system administration experience
• Must hold CompTIA Security+ Certification
• Must hold ITILv4 Certification

Physical Job Requirements:

• This position requires the ability to remain in a stationary position (standing and/or seated) more than half the time
• This position requires the ability to spend more than half the time viewing computer monitors

Citizenship/Clearance Requirements:

• US Citizenship is required
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoW Secret clearance within 6 months of initial hire
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoW Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility within two years of initial hire

Telework Availability:

• Until further notice, this position will remain in a fully in-person position with weekly trips to a client site in Washington, DC
• The first 90 days of the position must be spent in-office with core hours of 9:00AM to 4:00PM with all absences and delays reported to your supervisor before they occur

Primary Work Location:

• Client Site (Northern Virginia) and corporate offices (Stafford, VA)
• Position includes flexible hours and telework opportunities
• Requires weekly travel to client site and corporate office

Travel Requirements:

• This position has travel requirements up to 25% of the time
