Job Title: Level 2 Track-Trained Test Driver

Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Level 2 Track-Trained Test Driver to support vehicle testing and evaluation activities at automotive proving grounds and designated test tracks in Michigan. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in vehicle handling, track driving, and automotive testing procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate test vehicles on designated automotive test tracks and proving grounds.
- Perform vehicle testing under various driving conditions, including braking, acceleration, cornering, and handling.
- Follow track safety procedures and instructions from test engineers.
- Conduct pre-drive and post-drive vehicle inspections.
- Report vehicle performance observations, issues, and test results.
- Follow testing protocols, safety regulations, and client requirements.
- Support automotive engineers during vehicle development and validation.
- Maintain accurate driving and testing records.
- Travel to assigned testing locations as required.
Required Qualifications
- Valid US driver's license (Michigan driver's license preferred).
- Previous automotive test driving or closed-course driving experience.
- Track-trained driver qualification or relevant professional driving training.
- Good understanding of vehicle dynamics and handling.
- Ability to follow detailed testing procedures and safety instructions.
- Clean driving record, subject to client requirements.
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends or overtime if required.
- Strong communication and observation skills.
Preferred Certifications & Training
- OEM-specific automotive test driver training.
- Closed-course or high-performance driving certification.
- Vehicle dynamics and advanced driving training.
- Proving-ground safety certification, if required by the client.
- Valid CDL, only if required for the assigned vehicle type.
Experience
- 2+ years of professional driving experience preferred.
- Previous automotive testing, proving ground, motorsports, or performance driving experience is a plus.
- Experience with passenger vehicles, SUVs, or prototype vehicles preferred, depending on the project.
Work Environment
- Automotive proving grounds and closed-course test tracks.
- Outdoor and indoor testing environments.
- Exposure to varying weather and driving conditions.
- Compliance with strict site safety and vehicle testing protocols.
