We are seeking an experiencedDealership Controllerto lead and oversee the accounting operations of our automotive dealership. This is a hands-on leadership position responsible for the accuracy, efficiency, and daily operation of the accounting office.
Automotive dealership experience is required.We are looking for a strong leader who understands dealership accounting, takes ownership of the financial operations, and can effectively lead an accounting team.
Responsibilities:
- Provide overall leadership and oversight of the dealership accounting office.
- Supervise, train, develop, and hold accounting office staff accountable for their responsibilities.
- Ensure the accounting office operates efficiently and maintains accurate and timely records.
- Performdaily reconciliationsof cash, bank accounts, vehicle deals, and other key dealership accounts.
- Review daily accounting activity and identify and resolve discrepancies promptly.
- Prepare and oversee month-end financial statement closing.
- Monitor dealership expenses and assist management with budgeting, forecasting, and profitability analysis.
- Coordinate with banks, manufacturers, auditors, tax professionals, and other outside partners as needed.
- Lead by example and create a culture of accountability, teamwork, accuracy, and professionalism.
Qualifications:
- Automotive dealership accounting experience is REQUIRED.
- Previous experience as a Dealership Controller or an Assistant Controller
- Strong understanding of dealership financial statements and accounting procedures.
- Experience with dealership DMS and accounting systems.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
- Ability to perform and overseedaily account reconciliations.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
