Home Care Operations Manager – Non-Medical Home Care

An established and growing non-medical home care organization serving San Diego County is seeking an experienced Home Care Operations Manager to join our leadership team.

This position is based in our Encinitas office. Candidates do not need to live in Encinitas but must be able to reliably commute to the office each workday.

We are looking for someone who already knows non-medical, private-duty home care. The right person understands the daily realities of caregiver scheduling, call-offs, recruiting, client needs, staffing challenges, compliance, and managing an office team.

You will work directly with the Owner, lead daily operations, manage the office team, solve problems, and create the structure and accountability needed for continued growth.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day home care operations
• Manage, support, and hold the office team accountable
• Oversee caregiver scheduling, staffing, and call-off coverage
• Manage caregiver recruiting, onboarding, retention, and performance
• Monitor overtime, staffing needs, and scheduling efficiency
• Address client and family concerns promptly
• Maintain compliance with California home care requirements and company policies
• Improve processes, communication, organization, and accountability
• Assist with integrating new clients, caregivers, and service territories

Qualifications

Prior management experience in non-medical or private-duty home care is required.

Qualified candidates should have experience with:

• Caregiver scheduling and staffing
• Recruiting and caregiver retention
• Managing office staff and caregivers
• Client and family communication
• Resolving coverage and call-off issues
• Home care compliance and documentation
• Managing multiple priorities in a fast-moving environment

Experience with WellSky or similar home care management software is preferred.

We are looking for someone who can take ownership, exercise independent judgment, set priorities, manage the team, solve problems, and ensure tasks are completed.

This is a full-time, salaried exempt, on-site leadership position based in Encinitas, California. Candidates may live anywhere within commuting distance but must be able to report reliably to the Encinitas office.
