Job Title: Offset Sheetfed Press Operator – 2nd Shift
Location: Garner, North Carolina Area
Schedule: 5:30 PM–5:30 AM | Rotating Monday–Wednesday / Thursday–Saturday
Compensation: $30–$38/hour, based on experience

A well-established printing and packaging manufacturer in the Garner, NC area is hiring two experienced Offset Sheetfed Press Operators for its night shift production team.

This is a hands-on press operator position responsible for setup, make-ready, operation, troubleshooting, quality control, and maintaining consistent color and registration throughout production. Candidates should have at least two years of press operator experience and be comfortable working a rotating 12-hour night schedule.

• Set up, make ready, and operate sheetfed offset printing presses.

• Review job tickets for quantities, stock specifications, colors, and special printing requirements.

• Inspect plates and press components before production.

• Set blankets, packing, cylinder pressures, feeder, and delivery systems for each job.

• Set and adjust ink and dampening systems.

• Maintain proper ink/water balance throughout production.

• Monitor color density, registration, position, and overall print quality.

• Perform regular quality checks throughout each press run.

• Make adjustments to maintain color and registration within production standards.

• Troubleshoot feeding, registration, mechanical, and print-quality problems.

• Perform job changeovers and press make-readies efficiently.

• Adjust or replace rollers and other press components as required.

• Work with press helpers and other production team members to keep jobs moving efficiently.

• Perform routine press maintenance and cleaning.

• Maintain a clean and organized press area.

• Follow established safety procedures and production standards.

• 2+ years of experience as an Offset Press Operator.

• Hands-on experience operating sheetfed offset printing equipment.

• Ability to perform press setup, make-ready, and job changeovers.

• Strong understanding of color, ink density, registration, and print quality.

• Experience troubleshooting press and print-quality problems.

• Ability to recognize color variation and make appropriate press adjustments.

• Strong mechanical aptitude.

• Ability to read and follow job tickets and production specifications.

• Dependable attendance and ability to work a rotating 12-hour night schedule.

• Commitment to safety, quality, and good housekeeping.

• Experience in commercial printing, folding carton, labels, or packaging.

• Experience operating multi-color sheetfed offset presses.

• Experience with paper and/or paperboard substrates.

• Strong mechanical troubleshooting background.

• Experience performing preventive maintenance and press adjustments.

• Experience working as part of a press crew in a production environment.

This position works 5:30 PM–5:30 AM on a rotating schedule.

Operators work the front half of the week (Monday–Wednesday) for approximately four weeks, then rotate to the back half of the week (Thursday–Saturday) for approximately four weeks.

Candidates must be comfortable working this rotating night schedule before applying.

This opportunity offers experienced offset press operators a competitive $30–$38/hour pay range, a consistent 12-hour night schedule, and the opportunity to work with an established printing and packaging operation. There are currently two openings, and hiring is a high priority.
