Medical Receptionist mission will be to streamline the patient’s experience, allowing our physicians to focus on delivering exceptional patient treatment. From preparing and organizing patient information to ensuring smooth communication throughout their care journey, you'll play a vital role in our patients' well-being.
This full-time position is based at our Hamilton, New Jersey office, work schedule is Monday to Friday, work hours are Monday - Thursday, 8:45 am - 5pm and Friday 8:45am-3pm that promotes work-life balance. Hourly wage for this role is $18.50

Job Description:

Phone reception duties:

  1. Schedule appointments and assisting with questions relating to appointments, medications, authorizations, and other care related inquiries
  2. Create telephone encounters within EHR system, relaying messages with name, call back number, and detailed reason for the call if physician or managerial attention is required

Assist with patient preparation prior to visit

  1. Perform reminder calls to patients regarding appointment times
  2. Verify patient insurance eligibility utilizing medical group/IPA portals and insurance portals
  3. Verify patients have prior authorizations for patient visits, if required
  4. Update insurance, prior authorization, medical records information

Monitoring faxes:

  1. Respond and forward faxes to responsible parties
  2. Upload authorizations or patient documents into EHR

Maintaining inventory and clinic supplies:

  1. Ensure work site has sufficient amounts of inventory at all times including medical supplies, kitchen supplies, any other supplies utilized by office.
  2. Collect inventory and supplies requests biweekly.
  3. Receiving and verifying incoming package and contents

Document scanning, faxing, and emailing:

  1. Scan and upload patient documents into EHR
  2. Fax or email documents to patients, hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, pharmacies, other doctor offices
  3. Fax or email documents when requested

Provide front office support:

  1. Greet patients, check patients in and out for their appointments
  2. Collect and scan patient co-payments, insurance ID, government ID
  3. Assist patients with new patient packets, arranging transportation, consent forms
Requirements:
  • GED or High school diploma required.
  • At least 1 years of experience in reception area in healthcare setting.
  • At least1 year of EMR Experience (experience with Practice Fusion EMR is preferred).
  • Knowledge of Medical terminology
  • This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and office equipment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Work is performed in an office environment.
  • Must have the ability to push, pull, lift and or carry up to 25 pounds.
