Job Title: Quality Engineer

Industry: Plastic Injection Molding & Tooling

We are seeking a Quality Engineer (Quality Systems Engineer) to support our manufacturing operations at our Erie Facility located in Fairview, PA. This position will focus on ISO 9001 compliance, conducting internal audits, maintaining quality documentation, and driving quality improvements across plastic injection molding and tooling operations.

The ideal candidate must havehands-on quality experience in the plastic injection molding and tooling industry, strong knowledge of ISO 9001 requirements, proven manufacturing quality experience, and the ability to collaborate effectively with production, engineering, tooling, and leadership teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct internal ISO 9001 audits and support external certification and customer audits.
• Maintain quality documentation, procedures, audit records, and corrective action tracking using Microsoft Excel.
• Identify and resolve manufacturing quality issues related to plastic injection molding, tooling, and production processes.
• Lead or support root cause analysis, nonconformance investigations, and corrective actions.
• Monitor quality metrics, including scrap, rework, defects, and customer complaints.
• Collaborate with Production, Engineering, and Tooling teams to improve process consistency and product quality.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and ensure compliance with customer and internal quality requirements.
• Provide guidance and training on quality procedures and ISO 9001 requirements.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on quality experience in the plastic injection molding and tooling industry is required.
• Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 requirements and internal auditing.
• Experience with corrective actions, root cause analysis, and process improvement.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for quality documentation, tracking, and reporting.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and quality requirements.
• Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• ISO 9001 Internal Auditor training or certification.
• Experience with injection molding, mold tooling, dimensional inspection, SPC, or GD&T.
• Familiarity with PPAP, FAI, Lean Manufacturing, or Six Sigma.
• Experience with customer and supplier audits.

Work Environment

• This is an onsite position supporting plastic injection molding and tooling operations. The role requires regular interaction with manufacturing, engineering, tooling, and quality teams, including time on the production floor.
