About the Role:

The Tooling Supervisor plays a critical role in overseeing the tooling operations within a manufacturing or production environment to ensure that all tools and equipment are maintained, calibrated, and utilized efficiently. This position is responsible for managing a team of tooling technicians and coordinating with production, engineering, and maintenance departments to support seamless manufacturing processes. The supervisor ensures that tooling meets quality standards and production schedules, minimizing downtime and maximizing productivity. They also implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance tooling performance and reduce costs. Ultimately, the Tooling Supervisor contributes to the overall operational excellence by ensuring that tooling resources are optimized and aligned with organizational goals.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Experience in a supervisory or managerial role and SAP
• Minimum Tooling background of 8 years

Preferred Qualifications:

• Excellent communication, leadership and organizational skills as well as a keen eye for detail
• Ability to work with minimum supervision.
• Computer skills with Excel, Word and SAP.
• Must be able to conduct system audits for inventory accuracy.

Responsibilities:

• Coordination of Toolshop operations.
• Control of Spare part production and spending.
• Primary contact person for tooling personal (phone).
• Responsible for identifying and fixing critical Tooling concerns in production.
• Control, coordinate and communicate schedule from production to tooling personnel.
• 5s within Toolshop processes and areas.
• Ensure employees adhere to company policies.
• Serve as a link between subordinates and upper management.
• Ensure availability of workplace resources and equipment.
• Delegate work to employees, track progress and provide constructive feedback throughout projects.
• In charge of effective shift handover communication relay.
• Responsible for the complete and accurate record keeping of inventory items into and out of the tooling areas.
• Resolve daily Tooling issues by working with production team help resolve breakdowns when they occur.
• Address problems with work quality, issues between employees and other concerns in an effective and timely
  manner
• Set performance goals and project deadlines and align with Director of Global Tooling for larger plans.
• Disciplinary and functional guiding of employees.
• Guide, instruct and train employees.
• Monitor performance & verify results.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations.
• Other Duties as Assigned.

The required skills enable the Tooling Supervisor to effectively manage tooling operations by applying technical knowledge to maintain and optimize equipment performance. Strong leadership and communication skills are essential for directing the tooling team and collaborating with other departments to meet production goals. Analytical skills are used daily to assess tooling data, identify inefficiencies, and implement improvements that enhance productivity and reduce costs. Familiarity with safety and quality standards ensures compliance and promotes a safe working environment. Preferred skills such as experience with CNC machinery and process improvement methodologies further empower the supervisor to drive innovation and operational excellence within the tooling function.
