Job Description

This contract Inventory Specialist role focuses on organizing tools and equipment in a storage room and warehouse building over an 8–10 week project, with a strong possibility of transitioning into permanent employment based on performance. You will work day-shift hours with flexible start and end times, as long as you complete the required weekly hours. The position includes an initial training week and involves supporting an inventory lead by performing data entry, using SAP, and helping implement a structured inventory system.

Responsibilities

• Support the inventory lead with day-to-day tasks and follow instructions accurately to ensure project goals are met.
• Assist in organizing tools, equipment, and related materials in the storage room and warehouse building to create a clear, efficient inventory layout.
• Perform data entry to record and update inventory information in SAP and other internal systems.
• Help label, categorize, and store items in a logical, easy-to-find manner to improve overall warehouse efficiency.
• Conduct basic checks to confirm item quantities, locations, and conditions, and report discrepancies to the inventory lead.
• Collaborate with team members to maintain a clean, orderly, and safe work area in the storage room and warehouse.
• Participate in the first-week training to learn processes, tools, and inventory standards, and apply this knowledge throughout the project.
• Follow all company policies and procedures, including safety guidelines and security practices, while working in the facility.

Essential Skills

• Experience assisting in inventory or warehouse operations, with the ability to follow detailed instructions and support an inventory lead.
• Proficiency with SAP for basic inventory and data entry tasks.
• Strong data entry skills with attention to accuracy and detail.
• Basic knowledge of tools and equipment commonly stored in a warehouse or maintenance environment.
• Ability to work day-shift hours and reliably complete the required weekly hours with flexible start and end times.
• Capability to pass a drug test and check prior to starting employment.
• Willingness to participate in a structured training period and quickly learn new processes.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Previous experience in inventory control, warehouse support, or tool room organization is beneficial.
• Comfort working with technology and inventory software beyond SAP is a plus.
• Strong organizational skills and a methodical approach to arranging and categorizing items.
• Good communication skills to collaborate effectively with the inventory lead and other team members.
• Reliability and a strong work ethic, with an interest in long-term employment opportunities after the initial project.

Work Environment

Dress code is typical for a warehouse-support role, emphasizing safety, practicality, and readiness to handle tools and materials in a professional facility

This is a Contract position based out of West Columbia, SC.

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $22.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.

This is a fully onsite position in West Columbia,SC.
