Position Summary:

MHX is seeking an experienced Terminal Manager to lead operations at our Stockton, California facility. This position is responsible for the safe, timely, accurate, and reliable movement of customer products through the terminal.

The Terminal Manager oversees facility safety, operating processes, budgets, regulatory compliance, demurrage, inventory accuracy, employee development, and performance metrics. This leader will monitor railcar and truck-processing and dwell times by product, ensuring that terminal operations are consistently efficient and responsive to customer and operational needs.

The Terminal Manager directly supervises Assistant Facility Managers and indirectly leads Class-A Truck Drivers, Transload Leads and Transload Operators. The position is also responsible for ensuring that employees, products, equipment, and company property are managed safely and efficiently.

As a customer-focused leader, the Terminal Manager will build strong relationships with customers and collaborate closely with the MHX Customer Experience Team to understand expectations, resolve service issues, and deliver dependable results.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the safe and efficient operation of the Stockton terminal.
• Manage inbound and outbound truck and rail traffic.
• Ensure the efficient unloading, reloading, and timely release of railcars.
• Monitor truck dwell times and identify opportunities to improve throughput.
• Oversee product storage, inventory accuracy, and outbound shipments.
• Manage facility budgets and control operating costs.
• Track and manage demurrage.
• Maintain compliance with applicable federal and California laws, OSHA requirements, DOT regulations, and company and customer policies.
• Promote a workplace culture aligned with MHX’s mission, values, and safety standards.
• Hire, train, coach, and develop team members.
• Establish, document, and continuously improve operating procedures.
• Identify and implement safety, efficiency, and cost-saving initiatives.
• Maintain strong customer relationships and promptly resolve service issues.
• Protect company property and ensure equipment is operated and maintained appropriately.
• Monitor performance metrics and hold the team accountable for results.

Qualifications:

• Six or more years of warehouse, transload, terminal, or related operations-management experience.
• Rail or rail-served terminal experience is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of inbound and outbound truck and rail logistics.
• Working knowledge of OSHA compliance standards.
• Familiarity with DOT regulations.
• Demonstrated leadership and employee-development skills.
• Proven experience managing budgets and controlling operating costs.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and customer-service skills.
• Ability to work overtime and weekends as operational needs require.
