General Laborer | Production Associate | Machine Operator Trainee

Looking to start or grow a career in manufacturing? We're hiring a General Laborer / Production Associate to support daily production operations in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This hands-on role involves material handling, packaging, production support, housekeeping, and assisting machine operators.

This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with experience in manufacturing, warehouse, construction, production, or general labor who want to learn machine operation and develop new skills. Training is provided, with opportunities to advance into machine operator and forklift positions.

• Support daily manufacturing and production operations.
• Assist machine operators with setup, material staging, and production tasks.
• Package, bag, and prepare finished products for shipment.
• Move materials and products throughout the facility.
• Load and unload raw materials and finished goods.
• Maintain clean, organized, and safe production areas.
• Perform basic quality inspections on products.
• Assist with equipment setup and changeovers.
• Follow production schedules to meet daily goals.
• Support multiple departments as needed.
• Adhere to all safety procedures and company policies.

• Previous experience in manufacturing, warehouse, construction, production, landscaping, moving, or other physically demanding work is preferred.
• Strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
• Ability to lift 65+ pounds repeatedly throughout the shift.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform physical work for extended periods.
• Mechanical aptitude and interest in learning equipment operation.
• Reliable attendance and transportation.
• Team-oriented mindset and positive attitude.
• Commitment to workplace safety.

• Manufacturing or production experience.
• Warehouse or material handling experience.
• Forklift experience (or willingness to become certified).
• Machine operation experience.
• Construction labor experience.
• Packaging and shipping experience.
• Experience working around industrial equipment.

• Consistent 1st shift schedule (7:00 AM - 4:30 PM).

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Suffolk, VA.

The pay range for this position is $16.00 - $18.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
