Overview

The Video Services Engineeris responsible forthe operational support, configuration, and performance of enterprise video management systems within a large, mission-critical airport environment.ThisroleiscenteredonGenetecSecurityCenterandrequiresdeepunderstandingof video systems from cameras to analytics to storage and network infrastructure.

WearelookingforcandidateswithstrongITinfrastructureordesktopsupportbackgrounds and exposure to video, security, or physicalsystemsare encouraged to apply.

ThisroleblendsenterprisevideosystemsengineeringwithcoreITinfrastructuresupport.

The ideal candidate brings experience across video platforms AND broader IT domains such as end-user support, Windows systems, and network troubleshooting. The position works closely with field technicians,projectteams,andstakeholderstoensurereliablevideosystemperformanceacrossthe airport ecosystem.

Responsibilities:

· ServeasacoreteammembersupportingenterpriseGenetecvideomanagement systems, including configuration, monitoring, and lifecycle support

· Performadvancedtroubleshootingacrossthefullvideostack,includingcameras, encoders, servers, storage systems, and network infrastructure

· ConfigureandmaintainGenetecvideocomponents,includingcameraprovisioning, recording roles, archiving, and system parameters

· Monitorsystemhealthandperformance;identifyissuesrelatedtolatency,bandwidth, storageutilization, and video quality

· Analyzeandresolvevideoissuessuchaslossofvideo,degradedstreams,recording failures, and analytics performance

· Supportvideoanalyticscapabilities,includingmotiondetection,licenseplate recognition (LPR), and other intelligent video features

· Collaboratewithfieldservicetechniciansandprojectteamstovalidatecamera installations, support commissioning, and resolve field-related issues

· Performonsitevalidationactivities,includingcameraalignment,focus,positioning, and basic diagnostics

· Configureandtroubleshootnetworkinfrastructuresupportingvideosystems,including switches, VLANs, multicast/unicast traffic, and IP addressing

· Assistwithsystemupgrades,firmwareupdates,patches,andplannedmaintenanceactivities

· Participateinsystemtesting,cutovers,andafter-hoursmaintenancewindows

· Developandmaintaintechnicaldocumentation,standards,andtroubleshootingguides

· Interfacedirectlywithcustomersandstakeholderstoresolveissueseffectivelyina high- availability operational environment

· Participateinon-callrotationsupportingairportoperationsatO’HareandMidway

RequiredExperienceandSkills:

· Provenexperiencesupportingenterpriseorcampus-scaleITsystems(airports,transportation, healthcare, higher education, large corporate campuses, etc.)

· Experiencewithenterprisevideomanagementsystems(Genetecstronglypreferredbutnotrequired)

· StrongunderstandingofIPvideosystems,including:

o IPcameras,encoders,andONVIFstandards

o Videostreamingconcepts(bitrate,framerate,compression,multicast/unicast)

o Cameratechnologies(low-light,WDR,lenses,positioning)

· Experiencesupportingvideostorageenvironments,includingretentionpolicies, archiving, and SAN/NAS systems

· Familiaritywithvideoanalyticstechnologies(motiondetection,LPR,AI-basedanalytics, event correlation)

· Networkingfundamentals,including:

o Ciscoswitchconfigurationandtroubleshooting

o VLANdesignandsegmentation

o IPaddressingandsubnetting

o Networkperformanceconsiderationsforhigh-bandwidthvideosystems

· ExperiencesupportingWindows-basedserversandworkstationssupportingVMSplatforms

· Abilitytodiagnoseandresolveissuesacrosssoftware,hardware,andnetworklayers

· Strongtroubleshootingandanalyticalskillsinlive,mission-criticalenvironments

· Comfortableworkingindependentlyandcollaborativelywithfieldandengineeringteams

· Strongcommunicationanddocumentationskills

· Customer-focusedmindsetwithastrongsenseofurgency

PreferredQualifications:

· Bachelor’sdegreeinIT,Engineering,orrelatedtechnicaldiscipline(orequivalentexperience)

· Geneteccertification(CertifiedTechnicalAssociate,CertifiedTechnicalProfessional, or higher) strongly preferred

· ExperiencewithadditionalGenetecmodules(SynergisAccessControl,Federation, Mission Control/Event Management)

· Experiencewithmajorcameramanufacturers(Axis,Hanwha,Bosch,etc.)

· Experienceworkinginregulatedorhigh-availabilityenvironmentssuchasairportsor critical infrastructure

· Familiaritywithperformancemonitoringanddiagnostictoolsforvideosystems
