Your Opportunity + Impact

The Project Engineer is responsible for independently managing components of engineering projects and providing technical expertise in design, bidding, and construction services. The role involves close coordination with project engineers, architects, clients, and regulatory agencies to ensure projects meet technical requirements, schedules, and budget expectations. This position requires a strong foundation in engineering principles, growing leadership capabilities, and a proactive approach to problem-solving in a collaborative team environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and review electrical engineering designs for various types of facilities.
  • Prepare engineering reports, design calculations, construction plans, technical specifications, and cost estimates.
  • Coordinate with drafting and design team to develop complete plan sets.
  • Conduct site visits to review / assess existing conditions of electrical systems, prepare feasibility analysis, and construction phase services.
  • Respond to agency and client comments and revise plans and reports accordingly.
  • Provide oversight and mentoring to junior engineers and interns.
  • Communicate directly with clients, attend meetings, and represent the firm in a professional and technical capacity.
  • Monitor assigned project budgets and timelines, and coordinate deliverables with project managers.
  • Maintain organized project records, including digital and hardcopy files.
  • Adhere to company safety protocols and quality assurance/quality control procedures.
  • Foster a team-oriented environment and uphold the company’s brand values.
  • Maintain professional certifications in fields of expertise, asneeded.

Education and Experience

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, or related field of study.
  • Licensure: Newly licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Pennsylvania or Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certificate in Pennsylvania with ability to obtain a PE license within 12 months of hire.
  • Experience: Minimum of four (4) years job-relatedexperience. Knowledge of interior and exterior lighting design, lighting controls, power design, National Electric Code, and low voltage systems such as fire alarm system device layout, security device layouts, and voice/date outlet locations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrates a strong desire to expand knowledge and take on new responsibilities within the field.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Power Point,Outlook).
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks and meet project deadlines effectively.
  • Strong understanding of local and state codes, and engineering standards.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a project team.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to interact professionally with clients, vendors, and other external sources.
  • Proficient with AutoCAD and/or Revit.
  • Valid Driver’s License and Reliable Vehicle: Due to the need for occasional travel, a valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle are required.
