Industrial Automation Field Service Engineer (Southeast Region)

Aegis is collaborating with a fast-growing OEM that builds custom automation and metal fabrication machinery for highmix manufacturing environments. You’ll be the onsite expert customers rely on across Georgia, North Carolina, Florida, and Tennesseelaunching equipment, solving problems, and elevating uptime.

What your week looks like

From your home base near a major Southeast airport (ideally Atlanta, RaleighDurham, or Nashville), you’ll head to customer facilitiessometimes flying out Monday morning and returning late week. On site, you’ll bring new systems online, verify performance, and train operators. In between visits, you’ll provide remote support and close the loop with factory engineering to drive continuous improvement. Expect significant travel (up to ~80%) and regular overtime opportunities.

What you’ll do
  • Install, configure, and commission automated metalworking machinery and related systems
  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults at customer facilities
  • Interpret electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical schematics to troubleshoot and verify builds
  • Execute functional and acceptance testing; train customer teams on operation and preventative maintenance
  • Deliver both onsite and remote technical assistance
  • Document field findings and relay actionable feedback to the factory and service organization
What you bring
  • 2+ years in field service or industrial maintenance supporting capital equipment
  • Proven mechanical and electrical troubleshooting capability; handson hydraulic experience
  • Background commissioning or installing industrial automation/machinery
  • Fluency reading mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic schematics
  • Exposure to PLCs/controls and hydraulic systems is a plus
  • Willing and able to travel up to 80% and cover overtime/weekend work as required
  • Residence in the Southeast near a major airportideally ATL, RDU, or BNA
