What your day looks like

You start on the production floor, eyes on safety and reliability. You scan OEE trends, talk with operators in Extrusion and Converting, and pinpoint where scrap, changeovers, and downtime are eroding performance. By midday, you’re mapping a process flow, updating PFMEAs, and defining error-proofing controls. In the afternoon, you’re partnering with Maintenance to schedule predictive tasks, guiding technicians through a line trial, and documenting the engineering changes that will lock in a better standard. Before you leave, you capture lessons learned and queue up the next improvement sprint.

Role overview

This role designs, installs, configures, and sustains manufacturing systems to drive lower cost, higher reliability, and consistent quality. You will develop best practices across production, elevating safety while boosting quality, overall equipment effectiveness (OEE), throughput, yields, and changeover performance.

Impact you’ll make
  • Lift process reliability and line performance; cut downtime and scrap while increasing quality throughput.
  • Champion preventive and predictive maintenance approaches across the plant.
  • Lead and support projects within the Extrusion and Converting Departments from concept through implementation.
  • Guide maintenance teams on assigned tasks and projects; provide hands-on technical direction during trials and startups.
  • Own continuous improvement: identify savings, implement system and process changes, and contribute to long-range improvement roadmaps.
  • Create and maintain process documentation: process flows, PFMEAs, SOPs, and line capability/performance records.
  • Develop and sustain error-proofing (pokayoke) methods to prevent defects at the source.
  • Estimate, cost, and document engineering changes; manage configuration control.
  • Proactively prevent quality non-conformances and lead response when issues occur.
  • Provide technical input for incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
What you bring
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 5+ years of manufacturing experience preferred, with strong mechanical, electrical, and process acumen.
  • Working knowledge of PLCs, automation, and highspeed manufacturing equipment.
  • Fluent in problemsolving methods and data analysis; disciplined, objective, and detailoriented.
  • Clear, influential communicator who partners across functions, sees the big picture, and navigates ambiguity and change.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Access, etc.) and other engineering software/tools.
