Electrical Controls Engineer

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or equivalent experience
• Significant experience in designing and implementing industrial automation and control systems
• Proficiency with Allen-Bradley PLCs, FactoryTalk View, PowerFlex drives, and Kinetix servo systems
• Strong understanding of electrical schematics, control panel design, wiring, and commissioning procedures
• Knowledge of UL508A, NEC, NFPA standards, along with electrical calculations and component sizing
• Experience with AutoCAD Electrical and SolidWorks Electrical is preferred
• Familiarity with industrial networking, motion control, and safety systems is advantageous
• Skilled in troubleshooting, problem-solving, and providing technical support

Responsibilities:

• Lead automation projects from initial concept through to system startup, ensuring deadlines and client specifications are met
• Design and develop electrical control systems for custom machinery and automation equipment
• Develop and modify PLC programs, HMI interfaces, safety protocols, and motion control configurations
• Configure and troubleshoot automation hardware such as servo drives and drives, and support system integration
• Create and maintain electrical schematics, panel layouts, and associated documentation using CAD tools
• Assist during machine assembly, testing, and commissioning phases, providing technical guidance as needed
• Conduct machine validation, troubleshooting, and operational testing at customer sites
• Maintain detailed project documentation including schematics, bills of material, and revision histories
