About the Role:

The Sergeant position is a critical leadership role within law enforcement agencies, responsible for supervising and guiding a team of officers to ensure public safety and effective enforcement of laws. This role demands a strong commitment to upholding justice, maintaining order, and protecting the community through proactive and reactive measures. The Sergeant oversees daily operations, coordinates investigations, and ensures compliance with departmental policies and legal standards. They serve as a vital link between frontline officers and higher command, providing mentorship, training, and performance evaluations. Ultimately, the Sergeant plays a key role in fostering a safe environment while promoting professionalism and integrity within the force.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Valid law enforcement certification or license as required by the state.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in law enforcement or a related field.
• Demonstrated experience in criminal investigations and enforcement procedures.
• Strong knowledge of criminal justice principles, public safety protocols, and physical security measures.
• Ability to pass background checks, drug screening, and physical fitness assessments.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous supervisory or leadership experience within a law enforcement agency.
• Advanced training or certification in criminal justice, investigations, or security management.
• Experience in private investigations or personal security operations.
• Familiarity with community policing strategies and public relations.
• Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, Law Enforcement, or a related field.

Responsibilities:

• Supervise and coordinate the activities of law enforcement officers during shifts to ensure effective enforcement of laws and regulations.
• Conduct and oversee criminal and private investigations, ensuring thorough evidence collection and case documentation.
• Manage physical and personal security operations, including risk assessments and response planning for public safety incidents.
• Provide guidance, training, and support to officers to enhance their skills in enforcement, investigations, and community engagement.
• Collaborate with other agencies and community stakeholders to develop strategies that address crime prevention and public safety concerns.
