Job Title: Quality Inspector

Pay Rate: Starting at $22.00 per hour, with potential for a higher rate based on qualifications and experience
Location: Warren, RI
Duration: Temp-to-Perm
Shift: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM

Position Summary

A manufacturing company in Warren, RI is seeking a Quality Inspector to perform visual and dimensional inspections on machined components used in the production of precision sealing products for industrial applications.

The Quality Inspector will use a variety of handheld and benchtop measuring instruments to ensure products meet internal specifications and customer requirements. This position is responsible for documenting inspection results, identifying non-conforming materials, and supporting quality control procedures throughout the manufacturing process.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform incoming, in-process, and final inspections on machined components.
  • Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, work instructions, and industry specifications.
  • Read and understand geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) symbols and requirements.
  • Use precision measurement tools, including calipers, micrometers, indicators, and other inspection equipment.
  • Verify dimensional and visual compliance with established quality standards.
  • Complete dimensional inspection records, production documentation, and non-conformance reports.
  • Identify discrepancies and communicate inspection findings to production and management personnel.
  • Assist with investigating production issues and identifying potential corrective actions.
  • Reject or segregate materials and products that do not meet specifications.
  • Verify raw material lot numbers and maintain product traceability.
  • Follow established quality procedures and work instructions.
  • Maintain accurate records using ERP systems and other company databases.
  • Handle controlled and sensitive company information in accordance with security and compliance procedures.
  • Follow all applicable safety, security, and environmental regulations.
  • Properly handle and dispose of hazardous waste generated in the work area.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of one year of professional experience in Quality Inspection or Quality Control.
  • Experience working in a regulated manufacturing environment is highly preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
  • Working knowledge of GD&T principles and their application.
  • Basic understanding of CAD and mechanical engineering concepts preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, ERP systems, and other computer-based documentation tools.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to identify dimensional or visual defects.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and collaborate effectively with a team.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.
  • Ability to follow procedures, make sound decisions, and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Demonstrated reliability, accountability, and commitment to workplace safety.

Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • At least one year of continuous professional experience in a Quality-related role.
  • Manufacturing experience in a regulated industry is preferred.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, and sit frequently throughout the workday.
  • Ability to bend, squat, kneel, and reach as needed.
  • Frequent use of fine motor skills and hand dexterity.
  • Ability to repetitively handle and grasp tools, equipment, and small components.
  • Ability to rotate and manipulate parts during inspection.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 20 pounds frequently.
  • Ability to read and write in English.
  • Strong visual acuity, including the ability to see close detail, distance, and color differences.
  • May occasionally come into contact with manufacturing chemicals.

Work Environment and Safety

  • Work is performed in a manufacturing and quality inspection environment.
  • The facility may include open production areas and inspection laboratory spaces.
  • The environment may be noisy at times and is climate-controlled.
  • Position requires working onsite during scheduled hours.
  • Must consistently wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
