We are looking for an Accounting Specialist to support day-to-day financial operations for a Long-term Contract position in Rochester, Minnesota. This opportunity is ideal for someone who enjoys accurate, detail-driven work across core accounting activities while contributing to a collaborative team environment. The role offers the chance to apply accounting knowledge in areas such as reconciliations, billing, payables, and receivables while helping maintain reliable financial records.

Responsibilities:
• Manage invoice processing, payment workflows, and supporting documentation to keep accounts payable activities accurate and timely.
• Monitor incoming payments, assist with customer or internal billing matters, and maintain organized accounts receivable records.
• Perform account reconciliations by reviewing transactions, identifying discrepancies, and following through on needed corrections.
• Support routine accounting operations, including journal-related tasks, record maintenance, and financial data verification.
• Review financial entries for completeness and accuracy to help ensure dependable reporting and compliance with internal standards.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather information, resolve accounting issues, and improve day-to-day financial processing.
• Assist with month-end or periodic close activities by preparing schedules, reconciling balances, and organizing supporting materials.• Associate's or bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, with Accounting preferred.
• At least two years of relevant experience in accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, or similar financial support functions.
• Practical understanding of core accounting processes, including billing, reconciliations, and transaction review.
• Ability to maintain accuracy while handling detailed financial information and multiple priorities.
• Strong organizational and communication skills to work effectively with internal stakeholders and support timely issue resolution.
• Experience in a financial institution or credit union environment is valued.
• Additional credentials such as an accounting designation, master's degree, or related certificate program would be considered an advantage.
