SUMMARY:

The Warehouse Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient handling, movement, and storage of barrels within Castle & Key's warehouse operations. This role will focus on rolling, pulling, loading, unloading, staging, and relocating barrels while maintaining accurate inventory and following established warehouse procedures.

This is a physically demanding position that requires consistent attention to safety, accuracy, and organization. The Warehouse Operator will operate warehouse equipment, including forklifts and pallet jacks, and will work closely with the Warehouse Manager and team to keep daily warehouse activities moving efficiently.

RESPONSIBILITIES(Specific areas of responsibility include but are not limited to):

Warehouse Operations:

  • Safely load and unload barrels and other warehouse materials from trailers, trucks, and designated storage areas.

  • Roll and move barrels safely and efficiently within warehouse and yard areas using approved equipment and procedures.

  • Pull, locate, and relocate barrels accurately based on inventory records, work orders, and shipment documentation.

  • Stage and load barrels for shipment, ensuring loads are accurate, secure, and ready for transportation.

  • Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment after completing required company training and certification.

  • Perform barrel handling activities in a timely manner while protecting product, equipment, and facilities from damage.

  • Verify barrels received, moved, or shipped against provided documentation and report discrepancies promptly.

  • Assist with barrel inventories, location checks, and other warehouse inventory activities as assigned.

  • Identify damaged or defective barrels and communicate issues to the Warehouse Manager or designated Lead.

  • Stage and stencil barrels as needed for filling, storage, or shipment.

  • Conduct required equipment and warehouse area checks prior to use and report safety or maintenance concerns.

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment and actively participate in 5S/CIL practices.

  • Read, comprehend, and comply with all warehouse directives, procedures, SOPs, and safety requirements.

  • Report any injuries, unsafe conditions, equipment concerns, or other safety issues promptly.

  • Perform other warehouse duties as assigned.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Warehouse, material handling, or barrel-handling experience preferred.

  • Forklift experience preferred; ability to successfully complete company equipment certification required.

  • CDL Class A preferred, but not required.

  • Dependable, reliable, and able to work effectively as part of a team.

  • Strong attention to safety and accuracy.

  • Ability to learn and follow warehouse procedures, SOPs, and documentation requirements.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Standing, walking, climbing and moving throughout the warehouse and yard for extended periods of time.

  • Able to repeatedly push, pull, roll, lift, and handle barrels and materials weighing up to 500 lbs.

  • Able to perform repetitive motions and movements throughout the workday.

  • Physical ability to kneel, climb stairs, bend, reach, and work around warehouse racking and equipment - sometimes in confined spaces.

  • Ability to safely operate warehouse equipment and work in varying indoor and outdoor conditions/temperatures.
