Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Diesel Mechanic to join our dynamic maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy-duty diesel-powered equipment, including trucks, industrial machinery, and farm equipment. Your expertise will ensure that all machinery operates safely, efficiently, and reliably, supporting our operations across various sectors. Duties:
Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, suspension systems, brakes, shocks & struts, and air brake systems using schematics and technical manuals.
Conduct routine maintenance such as oil changes, tire service, alignment checks, and vehicle inspections to prevent breakdowns and extend equipment lifespan.
Fabricate parts or components as needed using power tools, welding equipment, soldering techniques, and hand tools to meet specific repair requirements.
Operate heavy equipment including excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractor-trailers, and other industrial machinery safely and efficiently.
Troubleshoot electrical systems and perform automotive diagnostics to identify issues accurately and implement effective solutions.
Maintain detailed service records for all repairs and maintenance activities; ensure compliance with safety standards such as HVAC systems and air brake regulations.
Assist with assembly or disassembly of equipment during repairs or upgrades while adhering to safety protocols involving heavy lifting and welding.
Experience:
Proven mechanic experience with a strong background in diesel engine repair and automotive diagnostics.
Dealership experience is highly preferred for familiarity with manufacturer-specific systems and schematics.
Hands-on experience with fabrication, welding, soldering, heavy equipment operation (including excavators, cranes), and farm machinery is desirable.
Knowledge of Caterpillar equipment or similar heavy machinery enhances your ability to perform specialized repairs.
Familiarity with vehicle maintenance procedures such as brake repair, alignment services, shocks & struts replacement, and tire service.
Electrical experience related to automotive or industrial systems is essential for troubleshooting complex issues effectively.
Ability to use power tools, hand tools, service manuals, schematics, and diagnostic software confidently in daily tasks.
