This is a 1 year contract. The role is hybrid (in office 3 days a week)

Meet the team:

You will join a small but highly effective project/program management team responsible for managing complex IT technology and Operations projects and programs. This role requires someone that can work independently and collaborate with disparate project teams to complete critical projects that support missions and goals. The successful candidate will have in-depth knowledge of project management tools and methodologies, and strong communication and leadership skills.

What you will do:

  • Successfully manage multiple small to large sized projects concurrently, throughout the full project life cycle, utilizing our standard PMO workflows, processes and templates
  • Drive project success with stakeholders to achieve the agreed upon outcome and objectives. Identify roadblocks and obstacles and work with the appropriate stakeholders to address them
  • Work with project stakeholders to align on project scope, timeline and deliverables
  • Prioritize workloads and tasks on assigned projects to maximize efficiency and use of limited team resources
  • Proactively identify risks and opportunities, as they relate to assigned projects and programs. Actively identify and pursue risk mitigation opportunities
  • Report project status and updates to leadership and appropriate stakeholders
  • Escalate to leadership and the appropriate stakeholders as needed during all phases of assigned projects and programs
  • Work with both internal and external/vendor stakeholders as required to complete projects
  • Utilize standard project management tools and templates
  • Lead efforts to refine and improve project management workflows / processes
  • Guide project team members through our standard PMO workflows and processes
  • Negotiate with stakeholder groups as required on resource assignments to support project completion

What you will need to succeed:

  • Bachelor's degree in related field (business, project management, Information Technology) or equivalent work experience
  • Project management experience of 4+ years desired in a business or IT type environment
  • Proven working experience in project management job roles. Experience managing complex IT and other technology projects
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience working with both internal and external customers/vendors desired
  • Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multitasking skills
  • Ability to prioritize work tasks across multiple projects and initiatives
  • Experience developing and tracking work breakdown structures (WBS) for projects
  • Experience managing project execution against identified scope, budget and schedule
  • Experience using project tracking tools (Atlassian Jira or equivalent)
  • Experience with establishing and managing stakeholder relationships
  • Experience presenting and reporting project status to internal and external stakeholders, at all levels within an organization

Nice to have:

  • Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification, or other project management related certifications
  • Experience working with external customers in a professional or managed services delivery environment

  • Experience with risk identification and mitigation practices
  • Excellent documentation skills required
  • A willingness and ability to learn and contribute to improving the PMO team
