Kitchen Assistant

KitchenAssistant/Porter Position

As a Kitchen Assistant or Kitchen Porter, as the Brits call it, you will be working directly under the Kitchen Manager and mainly responsible for assisting in food prep, cleanliness of the kitchen, and service. This is a great position for someone looking to work in the specialty food industryandwho has a likingfor food preparation and service.Restaurant experience not required, but hard work and commitment isexpected.This is a part-time and applicantmustbewilling to work regularly on weekends.

Duties andResponsibilities:

• Assist the Kitchen Manager during service
• Food prep includingsandwiches,dessertsand other specialtydishes
• Coordinateguest count and reservation information daily
• Assist Kitchen Manager with inventory and foodorders
• Prepareservice trays and all tasks needed to beginservice
• Ensurefood prep areas are clean andhygienic
• Wash utensils and dishes and make sure they are put awayproperly
• Preparetakeoutorders

Requirementsand Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Must be able to work in a team-orientedenvironment
• Restaurant industry experiencea plus
• Ability to work quickly butefficiently
• Stamina and enthusiasm
• Excellent communication skills and customer relations
• Ability to keep calm underpressure
• Willingness to learn andadapt
• Cooking/baking experience
