Plumbing Apprentice

Location: Oceanside, CA (statewide travel required)

Hourly Rate: $25 per hour

CitroTech is a fast-growing wildfire defense company protecting homes, communities, and critical infrastructure across California. We design and install Wildfire Defense Systems, combining rooftop sprinkler technology, defensible-space planning, and environmentally safe fire inhibitors.

Our clients include high-end homeowners, HOAs, builders, and government agencies, and the quality of our work and professionalism is core to our reputation. We are expanding our installation team and looking for a motivated, reliable, hands-on apprentice who wants to build plumbing skills while growing with a company at the forefront of wildfire mitigation.

Position Overview

The Plumbing Apprentice supports CitroTech's field installation team under the direction of experienced technicians and project leads. This person will:

• Assist with installing water tanks, pumps, rooftop sprinklers, piping, valves, and related components

• Learn to measure, cut, fit, join, and secure PVC, HDPE, copper, and other approved piping

• Help test systems, identify leaks, and confirm proper flow and pressure

• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized jobsite

• Travel across California for multi-day installations when needed

This is an apprentice-level role that blends plumbing, irrigation, pumps, construction, digging/trenching, and basic electrical and carpentry support. CitroTech will train the right candidate on our systems, installation methods, quality standards, and safety protocols.

Key Responsibilities

Plumbing and Field Installation

• Assist with the installation of piping, fittings, valves, pumps, water tanks, hose connections, and sprinkler assemblies

• Measure, cut, clean, join, and secure piping according to project plans and lead technician instructions

• Support pressure testing, flushing, leak checks, troubleshooting, and system startup

• Perform trenching, digging, pipe routing, mounting, anchoring, sealing penetrations, and jobsite restoration

• Read basic installation drawings, follow material lists, and complete installation checklists

• Handle tools, fittings, and materials carefully and report damaged or missing items

Learning and Development

• Work with experienced installers to develop practical plumbing and mechanical skills

• Learn CitroTech installation standards, pump and pressure-system basics, and quality-control procedures

• Accept coaching, ask questions, and steadily take on more responsibility as skills develop

Customer Interaction

• Communicate respectfully and professionally with homeowners, contractors, and project managers

• Represent CitroTech well on high-end residential and commercial properties

Safety Quality and Jobsite Management

• Follow OSHA requirements, company safety procedures, and lead installer instructions

• Use tools and personal protective equipment correctly and maintain safe work areas

• Keep jobsites clean, organized, and protected throughout the installation

• Document work through photos, forms, checklists, and daily job logs

• Assist with loading, material staging, inventory checks, and equipment maintenance

Travel

• Travel throughout California; company-paid travel, lodging, and per diem are provided

• Adapt to changing schedules based on project needs, weather, and fire season

Required Qualifications

• Strong work ethic; dependable, punctual, coachable, and professional

• Interest in building a career in plumbing, mechanical systems, construction, or field service

• Ability to lift 50+ lbs, climb ladders, use hand and power tools, and work outdoors

• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and work effectively as part of a crew

• Comfortable interacting with customers at high-end residential properties

• Valid driver's license and clean driving record

Preferred Experience Not Required

• Previous plumbing, irrigation, construction, landscaping, or mechanical experience

• Familiarity with PVC, copper, HDPE, pumps, water tanks, valves, or sprinkler systems

• Trade school coursework, apprenticeship experience, or basic ability to read plans and measurements
