With new CNC equipment recently added and a strong backlog of work, this position offers steady, long-term opportunities for experienced machinists who take pride in accuracy, efficiency, and craftsmanship.

Responsibilities

  • Operate CNC mills and lathes to produce precision components according to engineering drawings and specifications.

  • Perform multiple setups throughout the day, including tooling changes, workholding adjustments, and job changeovers for short-run production.
  • Read and interpret blueprints to determine dimensions, tolerances, and machining sequences.
  • Use precision measuring tools such as micrometers and calipers to inspect parts and verify that they meet dimensional and quality requirements.
  • Monitor machine performance during operation and make necessary adjustments to maintain part quality and production efficiency.

Essential Skills

  • At least 3+ years of CNC machining experience.
  • Programming experience on CNC mills, including at-the-machine programming.
  • Experience running CNC mills and the ability to perform multiple setups per day.
  • Ability to run both mills and lathes as needed.
  • Strong blueprint reading skills to interpret dimensions, tolerances, and features.
  • Proficiency using precision measurement tools such as micrometers and calipers.
  • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills in a machining environment.
  • At least 5+ years of overall machinist experience.
  • Ability to work on short-run production with a focus on accuracy and efficiency.
  • Comfort working on first or second shift as required.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience programming and operating specific CNC mill controls such as Hurco or similar platforms.
  • Experience in working with multiple CNC machines in a high-mix, low-volume environment.
  • Familiarity with adjusting machining parameters to improve cycle times and part quality.
  • Experience in a family-owned or small to mid-sized manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and handle a steady flow of varied projects.

Why Work Here?

The company has a strong backlog of work and is even turning away business, providing consistent, long-term job security. Recent investments in eight new CNC machines demonstrate a commitment to growth and modern technology. Flexible first-shift start times support better work-life balance, and both shifts offer opportunities to develop your skills on a wide variety of projects in a supportive, team-oriented environment.

Work Environment

The workplace is a family-owned manufacturing facility with a collaborative, hands-on culture. You can choose between first and second shift, with first shift offering a flexible start time between 5:30 a.m. and 7:00 a.m. and running into the early afternoon, and second shift running from 2:00 p.m. to midnight. The shop has recently added eight new CNC machines, creating a modern, well-equipped environment focused on precision machining.
