The Quality Inspector performs visual and dimensional inspections on aerospace engine components throughout the receiving, in-process, and final stages of manufacturing and repair. This role verifies the work scope of parts for the quoting team, reviews inspection results from multiple processes, and determines the repairs required. The Quality Inspector uses precision measurement tools and inspection systems to ensure parts meet organizational quality standards and customer requirements.
ResponsibilitiesEmployees work in a climate-controlled environment with well-defined processes, tools, and systems that support high-quality work. The organization offers strong internal development opportunities, including structured training on quality standards, processes, and products, enabling inspectors to progress to full sign-off responsibilities within approximately 18 months. Team members benefit from clear shift options, voluntary overtime, and a supportive, small-team setting that values precision, continuous learning, and professional growth.
Work EnvironmentThe role is based in a climate-controlled manufacturing and repair facility with inspections performed on the shop floor at designated desks, where parts are staged on carts and inspection data is entered directly into a PC. There is one opening on first shift (6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.), two openings on second shift (Monday–Friday, 3:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m.), and one opening on weekend shift (Friday, Saturday, Sunday, 6:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.), where employees work 36 hours and are paid for 40. Overtime is voluntary and has not historically been mandatory. New hires train on day shift for roughly six months to learn quality processes, standards, and products (6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., Monday–Friday). The inspection team consists of approximately seven people, with one additional inspector on nights and a lead who distributes workload daily. Work spans multiple buildings with similar processes but different part profiles: one building focuses on smaller, faster-paced parts with more part numbers; another handles the largest, more intricate parts at a slower pace; and a third focuses on military parts. Inspectors perform receiving, in-process, and final inspections on all parts moving through the facility, ensuring that final inspections are completed in time to meet shipping requirements.
