Production Associate

The Production Associate sets up, operates, and maintains finishing equipment to produce high-quality materials according to job specifications and production schedules. This role inspects materials, monitors machine performance, performs basic troubleshooting, and completes quality checks while maintaining accurate records and supporting a safe, clean, and efficient production environment.

Responsibilities

  • Read and follow job tickets, production schedules, samples, bluelines, and other job specifications, and seek clarification from supervisory staff when discrepancies arise before proceeding.
  • Inspect materials provided for each job to confirm they match the job ticket, sample board, blueline, and all applicable specifications.
  • Set up, adjust, and operate finishing machines in accordance with job specifications, operating procedures, and production schedules while minimizing setup waste and processing errors.
  • Perform machine changeovers and adjustments to accommodate various paper sizes, folds, formats, and job types.
  • Monitor machine performance, production flow, and product quality throughout each run and make mechanical or control adjustments as needed.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve basic mechanical or operating issues to minimize downtime, and promptly report problems that require additional technical or supervisory support.

Essential Skills

  • One to three months of related experience or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to operate production and finishing machines and perform general labor tasks in a manufacturing environment.
  • Mechanical aptitude with basic troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to read, understand, and follow job tickets, work instructions, safety rules, operating procedures, and quality requirements.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality control and accurate inspection.
  • Ability to use basic hand tools and measuring devices such as tape measures for setup and inspection.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, manage time, maintain accurate records, and work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Basic computer skills and the ability to learn and use production equipment controls, software, and company systems as required.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lincoln, NE.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
