What will you do
Build full-stack capabilities for an intelligence mission team, pairing responsive user interfaces with scalable Spring Boot services that deploy to cloud environments. You will work with product owners, testers, and fellow developers to define UI requirements, design RESTful APIs, connect front-end applications to backend services, and tune performance on both the client and server sides. You will take part in the full software lifecycle, from planning and design through testing, deployment, and ongoing support. This role suits a seasoned Java engineer who is equally comfortable in Spring Boot and a modern JavaScript framework, and who enjoys building tools that mission users rely on every day.
Responsibilities:
- Design and build highly responsive user interface components that meet mission user needs.
- Build and maintain robust, scalable backend APIs and services with Spring Boot, following RESTful principles.
- Integrate front-end applications with backend services, ensuring efficient data flow and secure communication.
- Work with product owners, testers, and other developers to define UI requirements and integrate with other system services.
- Support the deployment of cloud-enabled services.
- Find and resolve performance bottlenecks on both the client and server sides to improve speed and scalability.
- Contribute across the full software development lifecycle, including planning, design, development, testing, deployment, and support.
- Track work and document designs in Jira and Confluence, SharePoint, or similar tools.
Requirements:
- Active TS/SCI clearance with Full Scope Polygraph.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering and fourteen (14) years of software engineering experience. Eighteen (18) years of software engineering experience may substitute for the degree.

- Strong Java skills, including Spring Core, Spring MVC, and Spring Boot (including Spring Boot UI development).
- Front-end development with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, plus at least one modern JavaScript framework such as React, Angular, or Vue.js.
- Solid grasp of UI/UX principles and microservices principles.
- Experience with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform environments, and familiarity with Docker and/or Kubernetes.

- Experience with Jira and with Confluence, SharePoint, or similar collaboration tools.
- Ability to work onsite at Fort Meade, MD.
